Class Description:

Advanced Physics introduces students to the concepts and methods of physical analysis, focusing on classical mechanics and simple electrical circuits.  Building the ability to reason qualitatively and quantitatively is a primary focus, with inquiry and investigation, modeling and diagramming, symbolic algebra, unit analysis, communication and argumentation, data analysis, and integration and application of concepts as emphasized skills. Students will be prepared for the AP Physics 1 exam upon completing this class.

Credits: 1 (Science)

Prerequisite: Completion of Saxon Algebra 2 (or its equivalent) with an A or B. Honors Physics will use Trigonometry concepts that are first taught in Saxon Algebra 2. Students who have not used Saxon materials will need to have completed Trigonometry.
