Class Description: In this introductory course, students are invited to open their senses to the magic and craft known as poems. For many of us, poetry seems unapproachable and difficult. The focus of this course, then, is how to engage with a poem. Not only will students read, discuss, memorize, and recite poems, but they'll be given the tools and confidence to begin crafting their own verse. Class discussions encourage students to see how poetic language is part of how God created us to know him through his Word and sacraments.
