From selfies to screenshots, photography is increasingly a part of our daily lives. But what does it mean to take a truly great photo? What makes a photo worth looking at? And how can I use current software to make it look amazing? The goal of this course is to help students become well rounded in the fundamentals of digital photography. Students will receive basic instruction, demonstration, and see samples of the desired outcomes during each class. They will be required to move around, go outside, and use their phones or camera to complete weekly assignments. One of the most useful parts of classroom instruction will be weekly reviews of photos students have shot the previous days. Students will come to understand and apply the nature of good photography, development of personal style, and professional editing techniques.
