Class of 2025

Jedidiah Alderson

Valparaiso, IN

"I was once born at a very young age. All my life I have been attending school in mine basement in Indiana; homeschooled by my lovely parents, who've taught me most of what I know to this day. My parents heard of Logos Online School from Doug Wilson and transferred me over starting my Freshman year, and it has been incredibly helpful and eye-opening, almost solely due to Mr. Spratt's hardcore teaching.

I am a whippersnapper of many hobbies: I was enlisted in Karate for a year at age 7, I have thrown, swung, and picked up Yo-yos, I have Rubixed Cubes for a spell, and I've even spent a few hours trying to make a card disappear (Turns out matter is hard to expel). But no matter how venturous I get, the one appeal I cannot shake is the draw of art. hiking through God's creation, getting sent pictures of the Bananasaurus Split and videos of the Mortal Wombat Combat, listening to the most surreal of music while sketching to my heart's content, and editing together my own mini-movies. And there are so many places I'd love go, instruments I want to play, and art discussions and wisdom to acquire. It is is joyfully overwhelming. Infinity can never be grasped or understood by man, but as far as I can go, I wish to become a master in my craft and remind the world of not just the beauty, but also the inescapable necessity of the misconstrued subject we call art."

Titus Ballewske

Mt. Pleasant, WI

"I’ve spent most of my life in Wisconsin and attended public school until seventh grade. That year, I transitioned to Logos, which was a major shift both academically and culturally. The workload and expectations were significantly higher than what I was used to, but over time I came to appreciate the difference. Logos offered a more rigorous and thoughtful education—one that shaped me not only academically, but also spiritually. I’m grateful to have been part of a school where faith and learning are meaningfully integrated, and where I was consistently challenged to think clearly and live faithfully. This fall, I plan to attend Bethlehem College in Minneapolis, with the goal of pursuing law school after graduation."

Favorite in-class experience: "Studying Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy in Integrated Humanities 3"

Favorite book studied at LOS: Divine Comedy and Animal Farm

Jordan Barendregt

Alberta, Canada

"I was born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta, a small town on the edge of Canada. I had always been homeschooled as a young kid, and I never questioned whether it was the right choice or not. As a young kid I took my schooling for granted until my mother suffered a severe head injury, which resulted in her putting us into online school, not being physically able to teach us herself. Over the next three years, my siblings and I hopped around different online systems. Then in 2020 the pandemic hit, and it seemed like the world was ending. Up till then we had been in Wilson Hill Academy, and for the next year we continued to attend. My freshman year my parents decided to start a private classical christian school in the basement of our church, which ended in me being the only one in my grade.

It wasn't until my sophomore year that I switched to Logos Online School. Up until that point I had been extremely introverted. Yet over the past three years, along with the blessing of being able to go to the YEC every year, I have grown more confident, not only socially and academically, but spiritually as well. The teachers are excellent, the material is always entertaining and challenging, and I have had the blessing of having relationships with many of my classmates, in and out of school. Logos has changed my life and I will forever be grateful to them."

Favorite in-class experience: "Pranking Mr. Merkle by switching identities for a day with three of my fellow Latin II classmates"

Favorite book studied at LOS: Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis

Titus Belch

Georgetown, TX

"During middle school, I also explored music playing piano and trombone in the school band. Later on, I joined choir for my junior and senior years of high school. Singing in choir was a great way to improve my vocal skills, and bond with others who shared my love for music.

Outside of academics, soccer has been a big part of my life. I’ve been a goalkeeper since I was 10, and the sport has taught me a lot about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. Playing varsity goalie for Austin Royals all 4 years of high school was a great way to have a social life while doing online school. I also enjoyed running track, cross county, and being a part of the school swim team in Taiwan.

I plan to attend Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas, where I’ll pursue my Aircraft Mechanic and Power plant Certification, along with an Associate of Arts degree. After completing my certification, I plan to continue my education and earn a bachelor’s degree. My goal is to join the Air Force, following in the footsteps of my grandfather, and to pursue a career in aviation."

Favorite in-class experience: "The Atomic Bomb Debate in Humanities 1"

Favorite book studied at LOS: Phantastes by George MacDonald

Azariah Bergman

Powell, TN

"I live in Knoxville, TN and have been homeschooled my whole life. I started 7th grade at LOS in the fall of 2019. Logos has been a huge blessing, it helped me enjoy doing school, especially math (shoutout to Mr. Rauch). I have been blessed to meet many great classmates and teachers since starting. I started cross country in August of 2021, and earned an award for the most improved race time. Other sports I enjoy include volleyball, football, basketball, and pickleball, etc. I currently do not do any sports, but continue to run on my own. I will be attending New Saint Andrews Collage in Moscow, ID, joining my older sister who is already out there."

Ruthie Biette

Gladstone, VA

"The means and method of my education has fluctuated slightly throughout my childhood, but it was always Christ-focused. My mom and dad wanted to homeschool me and my siblings from the outset, and I was homeschooled during kindergarten. However, I was sent to the private Christian school attached to our church for 1st and 2nd grade. The summer before 3rd grade, we moved to central Virginia and for the next five years I was educated solely at home. My mom dabbled in a few different curriculums, piecemealing together the most effective/ideal education for us. This included allowing us to spend hours at a time outside, exploring our backyard and the pond across from our house. (Exploring ponds and rivers is still one of my favorite hobbies.) Our education, though not strictly classical throughout those years, was always adjacent to the classical method. The Omnibus curriculum was a core piece of my education before Logos came into the picture. It was used for my siblings as well, but specifically for me, as Mom recognized my interest in reading and writing from an early age, and encouraged that.

I have always been interested in reading and writing. In 1st grade I read through a book in one night which was supposed to take us several weeks. I grew up on a steady diet of Lewis and Tolkien and the historical fiction of Avi and Lois Lowry. As early as 5 years old I was writing little poems and stories. This is an interest which I hope to take further, if it is the Lord's will.

Living in Alaska for a few years provided me with more fodder for the “leaf-mould” of experiences and stories in my mind and has influenced some of the flavor of my writing. It also broadened my experience in the outdoors; taking me from small ponds to larger lakes, from deciduous forests to boreal forests, and from humid heat to dry cold. It caused me to realize and appreciate the great variety of color and flavor in this world which our Author created.

I started Logos in 9th grade, while still in Alaska, and have found that I love classical education, specifically languages and humanities. I have taken Latin (4 years) and Greek (1 year). I have dabbled in a few other languages such as Welsh, German, Italian, and Old English for fun in my free time.

From the time I was in 7th grade, I hoped to attend New Saint Andrews. There were a couple other colleges I considered throughout high school, but I ultimately only applied to NSA. I plan to continue learning languages both on my own, and through my continued education at NSA. My greatest hope, however, is to become a wife and mother and use the skills and gifts God has blessed me with to bless my future husband and children."

Taelor Brady

Katy, TX

"I was public schooled up until fourth grade, which was when the Lord decided to have my family begin our homeschooling adventures. My freshman year was when I was placed in LOS. This was where I indulged in the most wonderfully taught classical education, where God’s word was rooted in every lesson. I trudged through Hell, walked through purgatory, and soared through paradise with Dante and studied other scholars and Bible passages in Integrated Humanities, and I survived the battle of Algebra and Consumer math. I founded my education in the Lord through apologetics, and enjoyed entertaining electives about Tolkien and Spanish. I had the privilege to study alongside godly and gifted students whom I can call my best friends, and learned numerous things with the help of my patient, God-fearing teachers. During my high school years, I indulged in several extracurricular activities. I began to take professional piano lessons from a teacher, played volleyball for a small private school, participated in musical theatre, and began voice lessons. I will be studying Vocal Performance at Houston Christian University, and use that to worship and perform for God’s glory!"

Alexandra Bride

Denver, CO

"I attended public school from kindergarten through seventh grade. In eighth grade, I transitioned to homeschooling, where I was primarily self-taught under the guidance of my parents. In ninth grade, I joined Logos, and I must admit—it was a challenging adjustment. I often found myself working on homework until 10 p.m., overwhelmed by the rigorous academic expectations. The transition was especially difficult as I was enrolled in Consumer Math, an upperclassman course, during my freshman year (special shoutout to Mrs. Mutart for being so amazing!). However, each year since, I have grown tremendously in both knowledge and my ability to handle academic intensity.

A little about me—I have been a classically trained pianist since the age of four, and I also play in my church’s worship band on Sundays. I have been snowboarding with my family since I was six and even earned first place in a rifle competition at the NRA Whittington Center Camp. I was born in Houston, TX, but moved to Denver, CO, when I was nine months old. I began kindergarten at four years old and skipped fifth grade, which means I will be graduating at 16 years old. All that to say, I am discerning what my future holds. God has blessed me with many opportunities, and I am continuously learning how to trust in His plan rather than my own. I am deeply grateful for all of my teachers at Logos. Each of them has been incredible in their own way, and because of their dedication, I wholeheartedly recommend Logos. Thank you!"

Addison Busby

Troutdale, OR

"I grew up in the Pacific NorthWest, in the gateway to the gorge. It was a beautiful place to grow up with my four younger siblings. You can drive two hours and get almost anywhere, mountains, desert, woods, plains, country, city, or the beach. I was able to spend my days exploring with my siblings, playing games with my friends, and hanging out with my family.

My family owns a small business and it has been amazing to see my parents as they run it. My favorite place to be is at home or at church. Church is where I have made some of my life long friends and fondest memories.

I did 5 seasons of soccer and then decided sports wasn't my thing. I started learning piano and then switched to the violin and have been playing for 6 years now. I was homeschooled k-6th grade, went to private school in 2nd grade, did classical conversations for 7th grade, and logos from 8th-12th grade. Two of my siblings and I have dyslexia and my mom patiently homeschooled us and helped us with our reading struggles. When I was in 9th grade my family adopted my youngest two siblings. Learning was a struggle in the earlier years, but doing Logos for high school was such an amazing experience. Next year I plan to do a one year college in Washington called Vector. Then see from there what the lord wants me to do next.

I'm so grateful to the teachers and their kindness, patience, and all the things they taught me. I'm grateful to the classmates I have had through the years and the laughs and discussions we have shared. I'm thankful to my friends, getting to graduate with some, and always being there for each other. I'm grateful for my family and their support and fun. I'm grateful for my siblings and the way they are there for me and make me smile. But mostly I'm grateful for my parents and all the hard work, encouragement, and love they have given me."

Adessa Carrasquillo

Riverside, CA

"I started out homeschooled completely by my mother from kindergarten through junior high. During second through eighth grades, I attended a charter school a few hours a week to take what I called "fun classes" though my core studies were with my mother. Eighth grade was when I finished the charter school, and transferred to Logos Online. I attended Logos Online for five years, it was an amazing experience. I learned much, and it helped me grow in my fondness for school and learning. Through my late high school years, I played for a private school volleyball team. During my senior year, I made it on varsity and our team won every game. I am so proud of our team. After high school I plan to attend Santiago Community College to complete my general education, then transfer to California Baptist University, Lord willing. I am unsure where my passions lie, but mission trips have caught my interest. I know God will guide me, I trust Him and shall commit myself to Him. All praise, honor, and glory be to Him."

Emily Cartwright

Henderson, NV

"I was blessed to grow up with my wonderful father, mother, and two brothers in Las Vegas, Nevada - the city of glitter and lights that never turn off surrounded by an uninhabitable desert: a land of jagged mountains, abandoned mines, rodeos, cacti, dust storms, sunsets more astounding than any human mind could ever dream up, more types of rocks than you’d ever imagine possible, and a sun so hot you can feel its heat sinking straight into your bones.

I was homeschooled by my long-suffering, hilarious, and brilliant mother. She and my father gave me a wonderful foundation of education in my early years of homeschooling. I then went through a brief stint in public school before my father put me in LOS, where I have been blessed by passionate, attentive teachers, and the wonderful heritage of Christian classical education. Throughout all of my years of education, God has used passionate, competent people to encourage me to glorify Him, feel awe and wonder in Him, and submit to Him!

My extracurricular interests include reading, writing, rodeo/ horseback riding, stained glass crafting, oil painting, hiking, hunting, babysitting, cooking, sewing, singing, piano, laughing, trying (and often, tragically, failing) to get other people to laugh, swimming, weightlifting, and observing all the beauty God sends me. I was blessed with the office of General Editor to the LOS Student Newspaper, where I’ve had the privilege to work with the most wonderful staff and my extremely patient and wise teacher, Mr. Smith. I was also blessed to help run the school’s Tutoring Club for years, tutoring many of my peers in Latin, math, Chemistry, and Biology!

I was honored to receive the Logos Online School NSA Scholarship, an unbelievable blessing that will allow me to continue my education at New Saint Andrews College this fall. I aspire to know God, to marry a faithful and brilliant man, to have many children, to write good, true, beautiful books, and to be a force for good in every community that I join!

A deep thanks to my father and mother, who have been my two stone pillars; my brothers, Levi and Silas, who are my wonderfully competitive (despite their constant loss 😉) life-long companions; my close friends, who have constantly pointed me back to Christ and His Holy Word (and kept me up laughing on the phone far past midnight); my brilliant, passionate teachers who listened to me with patience and instructed me with wisdom; and to God for every meal, every sunrise, every cool breeze, every book, word, ray of light, and step. I’ll work hard every day to thank them all again and again."

Matthew Carver

Andrews, NC

Matthew Scott Carver is our third son of 7 children. He has always been adventurous. Well, let’s say it was hard to keep his feet on the ground. Back flips off of walls, rip sticks going fast and furious down busy streets, or jumping out of an airplane on his 18th birthday, has never slowed Matthew down. He iS fearless…..but only because Matthew truly takes to heart God’s Word in 2 Tim 1:7 that says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” We are so proud of what the Lord has done in our son’s life. We have watched how the Holy Spirit has transformed our son and given him the desire to follow after Him. He loves Jesus and loves to take a stand for Truth. We ask that others join us as we pray for him as he goes to Bob Jones University to join his other brothers this fall. Matthew has always been so gifted and we are eager to see what direction the Lord will lead him in the future. Matthew, your family loves you and is here for you along the way. The Lord is your strength and your shield.

Josiah Clark

Kennewick, WA

"Hi there, I'm Josiah Clark, I was born and raised in Eastern Washington. I've been homeschooled my entire childhood up until freshman year. Prior to Logos I had done a handful of co-ops but it was nothing like doing an online school. We heard about Logos through a family friend and at first, I was pretty skeptical but as freshman year started and I got to know my teachers and my classmates the idea of online schooling grew on me. At the end of four years, it's been the coolest thing to have so many friends in so many parts of the country that I can go visit and just be able to say I have friends in every state. I've also hugely appreciated Logos because of the four-day school weeks. It gives me time to work, play, and do all the extracurricular activities.

I like to say I do pretty much any activity under the sun, and most people will agree with that. Some of those activities include biking, golfing, snowboarding, dirt biking, and working on vehicles. My family and I have grown up with music lessons and instruments and my main job is DJ'ing. After I graduate my goal is to finish flying school and become a commercial pilot. Working towards that I would also like to learn electrical and become an electrician on the side."

Favorite in-class experience: "Dress up competitions with Mr. Pineiro"

Favorite book studied at LOS: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Emily Collins

Greenville, TX

"I was born and raised in Greenville, Texas and have lived here my whole life. My mom started homeschooling me when I was very young, and she taught me all the way up to 9th grade. My parents then found LOS and decided to give it a try. I have gone for all four years of high school, and can not express how blessed I am to have received such a rigorous classical education. I have grown so much in my faith throughout these four years, and I thank God for sustaining me and carrying me through it all.

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I've played piano for 7 years now, and received various medals in that time. I really enjoy singing, and will find any excuse to sing as much as possible. I LOVE volleyball and have played for 3 years, and for the last year, I participated in track and field. This fall, I plan to attend Paris Junior College and get my associates degree in Business Finance/Accounting."

Joshua Corey

Caldwell, ID

"I spent most of my childhood in Port Angeles, WA, nestled among nine siblings. Being the third from the bottom in this lively pack often felt like I was somewhere near the top of a wonderfully chaotic dog pile. In 2020, a significant shift occurred—six out of the ten of us made the move to Caldwell, ID, where I still reside today.

Growing up, I was homeschooled for nearly my entire education. My mom was my dedicated teacher, and my dad, the principal. I loved the freedom of learning at home, but it was the summer of 2022 that truly shaped my horizons. That’s when I decided to attend the Called Conference, which turned out to be one of the best choices I’ve ever made. Surrounded by like-minded Christians at the camp and feeling the investment that NSA made in our experiences inspired me deeply. I wanted more of that camaraderie and growth.

When I returned home, my voice practically gone from all the excitement and yelling that Called makes you go though, I made an announcement: I wanted to go to college. But not just any college—the best one for my well-being, where I’d be surrounded by like-minded people who would positively influence my future generations. I had my heart set on New Saint Andrews! To my delight, my mom was on board.

In the school year of 23/24, I found myself diving into Logos Online. I had five classes to catch up on my academics and prep for college, and it was all up to me to put in the effort. Honestly, there were moments when I felt like quitting, overwhelmed by the weight of it all, but my dad always told me, “If it’s too hard… GOOD! Embrace it. Take the challenges, the pain, and fight through it; it only makes you stronger.” Those words became my mantra.

In the fall of 2024, I took the ACT twice but didn’t achieve the score I needed and missed the early deadline for NSA. That setback could have deterred me (and it did for a little bit), but my mom refused to let me lose hope—she signed me up for the CLT instead. While it didn’t go as well as I hoped either, NSA saw potential in me and offered me a chance to attend their college and immerse myself in their culture.

It’s amazing to see how the Lord works in our lives. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend NSA, credit going to God, my supportive mother who always encouraged me to stay on this path, and my father, who provided strength and guidance for both of us. Their love and belief in me have been the foundation of my journey, and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead."

Brianna Dalley

Riverton, WY

"I was born and raised in Riverton, Wyoming, where I currently reside. I attended a local elementary school through 2nd grade when my parents decided to start homeschooling. We used many different curriculums from 3rd through 6th grade including classical conversations. Then I attended private school for 7th and 8th grade, which is where I was when my mom discovered Logos. I started at Logos in 9th grade and have been enrolled full-time ever since. It has truly been my favorite form of schooling, though it did take some adjusting to the online atmosphere. Outside of school I enjoy playing softball, reading, baking, and doing lots of fun activities with my family. My freshman year I started working at a local flower shop and at the end of my sophomore year I started working at a local Mexican restaurant, so between the two I have been kept pretty occupied when not in school. In the future, I would like to be a mom, so Lord willing I hope to have a big family someday."

Elianna Dodds

Lake Elmo, MN

"I have the pleasure of living with my four siblings and parents in the outer eastern suburbs of St. Paul, Minnesota. Before we moved to our current home, I was homeschooled by my mom at home. Before my youngest brother was born, we moved and because of his condition, started attending a private school shortly thereafter. I attended this private school from 2nd Grade to 8th Grade, but needed something else for further education. I started at Logos my freshmen year and have attended all the way through high school. It has been a wonderful, rigorous time.

Outside of school I have enjoyed an assortment of activities. I have dabbled in piano since I was 6, though I have not taken lessons the entire time. I did gymnastics with older siblings in kindergarten and 1st grade, but dropped those for school. As a toddler, I danced, and then picked ballet back up at the age of 12. I have danced all these years with my younger sister.

I will be attending Bethlehem College and Seminary (the college part of the school ;) ) in the fall for my Bachelors in Theology and Letters, a humanities based degree. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up dance whenever I can and keep dabbling with piano, and after school I hope to be able to teach at a local co-op or private school."

Aubrey Duncan

Damascus, OR

" I was born in Oregon City, Oregon and have lived around ever since (not /in/ Portland, just /near/ it). I've grown up in a loving family, but it wasn't until 2019 that we came to know the truth. That fall, the beginning of my sixth-grade year, I dropped out of the public school system, and we clumsily tacked my middle school years together! But, my parents faithfully provided an education, and in 2021 I was enrolled in one math class with LOS. I loved every part of it. I joined Logos full time for high school. Over the years the Lord opened the door for me to graduate early, and here I am!

Logos has pushed me to grow in ways I never dreamed, it has ignited in me a deep love for God and this world he created, I never want to give up the wonder and delight of learning. As this chapter comes to a close, I am overwhelmed with God's staggering kindness. I never could have imagined what He had in store, and I know the God who brought me here will bring me home. I look forward to the rest of the journey, whatever it might be.

Outside of school I've always been a reader, and still love it dearly. I'd love to say I'm also good at sports, but I suppose lying is wrong. Even though I often manage to find new and exciting ways to mess up, I love trying new things, and will always love a good game of volleyball. I love to camp and hike, and our family hunting trip will forever be my favorite vacation. Above it all, though, my favorite way to spend time is with my people. There is an endless supply of laughter in our home, and with two younger brothers very close in age, there is never a dull moment. I've also been blessed with the most incredible friends who faithfully sharpen and encourage me.

As for the next chapter, my plan is to take a "gap year." Between what? Well, I'm not sure yet, but in the meantime I'll continue to pursue photography, and I've been given the opportunity to help teach a photography course for my Church's homeschool co-op! Otherwise, I plan to do whatever else the Lord decides to lay before me!"

Greta Earnest

Memphis, TN

"I was born and raised in the same house in Caldwell, Idaho, but I have done almost every type of schooling under the sun (except boarding school, thank heaven). During my second stint at public school, Covid happened and threw any sense of normalcy out the window. This ultimately led to my joining LOS halfway through my eighth grade year. Going from reading The Outsiders over two months to Beowulf in one week was no easy switch. Many tears were shed. (What is a polynomial? What is a declension? etc.) However, once I got settled in, I discovered that not only could I learn these things, but that I actually liked to do so; something that I never thought would happen. I have grown so much during my time at LOS, and am very grateful for the strong theological foundation it gave me along with the necessary schooling. The teachers have a real care for their student's souls as well as their minds.

When not reading the required materials for school, reading non-required materials for school, and reading a lot of other things, I can be found practicing my violin, baking cakes, writing variously, and starting fermentation projects that make my mother nervous. I have had the privilege of being a part of the Boise Youth Philharmonic Symphonic Orchestra, the Sun Valley Music Festival, the Idaho All-State Orchestra, and my local high school's chamber orchestra, among other things. I have learned so much participating in these groups, and appreciate all of the great relationships I made while making music. I hope to continue playing wherever I go, especially chamber music (though being in a full orchestra is pretty amazing). I also love spending time with my family watching movies, playing games, and being generally ridiculous. Some ladies at my church and I have also been doing a book club for over two years now, which has made some of my favorite memories in recent years.

In the fall of 2025 I will begin attending New Saint Andrew's College on the Northwest and Presidential scholarships to get my degree in liberal arts and culture. After that I would like to pursue my master's degree in something classics-adjacent and hopefully venture into the world of translation. I am so excited to further my education and grateful for all of the opportunities the Lord has afforded me through LOS."

Connor Farrell

Roseville, CA

"I was born in sunny San Diego, California but right as we were about to celebrate my second birthday, we moved up to Northern California, and I have lived here in Roseville since then. For the first ten years of my academic journey, I attended an in-person private Christian school, and I got some great discipleship there. In third grade, I started taking piano lessons and still play to this day. My family is very musical, so it’s been really cool to be able to learn that instrument. I graduated from Adventure Christian School in 8th grade, winning the Bryce Jessup Award, a character award. I don’t think I properly understood how much of an honor it was to win it at the time, but it was a blessing to be chosen for that award.

As we all know, there are no doubt difficulties within online education, but Logos is a wonderful school. I joined LOS freshman year, and have really come to appreciate it and its people in the last four years. Speaking of freshman year, this was about the time I started to gain interest in creative video. This led to me creating a YouTube Channel in Gridiron Coasters (shameless plug) which I have been running for over three years. I also love being active, whether it’s lifting weights at the gym, going for a walk, or playing a sport, specifically soccer; I also referee soccer games, which is a nice side gig on the weekends.

After graduation, I’m going to work hard for at least a year to get my feet on the ground. After that, I will potentially go back to school, with the end goal being seminary. We’ll see what the Lord has in store, but I know that “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” (Prov. 16:9)"

"I was born and raised in Oregon, and have only moved once, from Troutdale, Oregon, to Corbett, Oregon. I am the oldest of four siblings and I have Christian parents who are faithful to teach, discipline and instruct me and my siblings in a God-honoring way. I spent about 13 years of my life going to Open Door Baptist Church and the last 5 attending Pleasant Home Community Church. My educational journey started out attending Open Door Christian Academy (run by the church,) and I attended from pre-school until 2nd grade. My mom homeschooled me, using different curriculums such as Sonlight, Bob Jones, and Abeka. She homeschooled me until 6th grade, and in 7th, I was in Classical Conversations. One of my extracurriculars that I greatly enjoy is the violin! I have been playing since I was 10 (with a few break years) and this has greatly influenced my love for music and learning as well!

I started Logos in 8th grade, with two classes, and I fell in love instantly! Logos has pushed me in many different ways, both spiritually and academically, and I could not be more grateful! I have grown richly in my love for reading, writing, and many other things! I never want to give up my love for learning, academically and spiritually!

This style of learning has made me want to pursue a further education. So I plan on attending The Masters University in the Fall of 2025 for a degree in English so I can teach others in a classical way. I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for me!"

"I was born and raised in Central Florida, and I have a large family, with three younger brothers and three younger sisters. I was home-schooled by my parents until 7th grade, which was when I started Logos. The year I started LOS was also the year I moved to New York. Living in a new state and starting a new school at the same time was a little difficult at first, but it was made much easier by the amazing teachers and friendly fellow students. In late 2023, during my fifth year at LOS, I moved back to Florida, which was a welcome change.

I enjoyed every class I have taken, but my favorite classes were Latin I with Mrs. Rapp, Biology with Mr. Kwong, Integrated Humanities I with Mr. Smith, Latin II with Mrs. Trotter, General Studio Art with Mrs. Swait, Observational Drawing with Mrs Roberts, Advanced Biology with Dr. Glauser-Patton, and the Writing Intensive with Mrs. Bone. I also loved the school clubs! Specifically the Movies and Music Club, the Art Club, and the Writing Club.

I already had an interest in biology, but Mr. Kwong and Dr. GP really helped to foster it even further. They were two of the best teachers I had. Outside of school I enjoy painting and drawing. I was self taught until I took Mrs Swait's studio art class in tenth grade. This class had a huge impact on my art skills and really helped me to get out of my comfort zone and try different mediums. I loved making cardboard sculptures and dioramas. Oil pastels, which I learned to use in this class, have become my favorite traditional medium.

I was able to make friends with many of my classmates, all of whom I still maintain a close bond with. I was even able to become friends with some students I didn't share any classes with through the school clubs.

I run my own small business where I sell stickers that I design myself, but I also have an interest in working with my hands outside of traditional art. Lord willing after graduation I would like to attend a vocational school to learn a skilled trade such as electrical work or masonry."

"I have attended every kind of school, from going to private school to public school, back to private school, back to public school, then finally landing at Logos my junior year. My faith has grown in so many ways here, leading me to decide on Baylor University for my next 4! I will be majoring in biology on a pre-med track to hopefully one day become a surgeon. I have played tennis for over 13 years and track for 5. I enjoy pottery and pickleball, and spending time with my friends! I'm very involved with my church, being a part of their leadership and volunteering team, and also doing many bible studies with them. I am incredibly thankful for my time at Logos and recommend it to anyone I can. The friendships and relationship I've built with the Lord here are like no other, and I owe all my educational achievements to them! SIC EM' BEARS!"

"I was born and raised in Scott City, Kansas and homeschooled my entire life. My mom and dad valued my education and my upbringing so much, they could not even think about sending me to be taught by someone they didn't believe could bring me closer to Christ. I began with Abeka Academy disc videos, and from there moved to My Father's World with my mom as my primary teacher. At the end of my 8th grade year, COVID began and my parents attended the very first Fight Laugh Feast conference. While there, they learned about LOS and mentioned it to me. While I was very skeptical at first, we made the decision together, and it has become, singlehandedly, one of the greatest blessings in my life. My life would be radically different without LOS. The teachers I've had to mentor me, the friends who I've enjoyed the company of, and the relationships I've been blessed with are priceless. Even now, I can think of faces and names that I know will still impact me years from now, and I'll never forget them.

Apart from being a student, I'm a hockey player, alongside my dad, and we enjoy going to tournaments to play together in places like Amarillo, TX. In 2022, I was awarded High Plains Youth Hockey MVP and now I am assistant coach with my dad for the youth team. I also love piano performance, teaching scripture in my church, and lifting heavy weights. More recently I have been learning how to work on a farm/ranch, and I've been enjoying it very much, even when it's hard.

Now that I'm finishing up high school, I hope to be able to get trained for pastoral ministry. Over the last year or so I've been feeling the call and urge to go into ministry, and with the help of my family and wonderful teachers like Mr. Craig Thighe, I've been able to discern this calling and make the decision to go for it.

As I leave LOS and move on to other things, I must say that senior year was my favorite. Whether it was starting Viking Club with Greta Earnest for the 100th anniversary of Tolkien's Viking Club, calculating my taxes with Mrs. Mutart, or Dr. Olsson calling me a "little man," senior year has turned out for the best.

Thank you to LOS for being so amazing to me, and praise God I enrolled four years ago."

"I was born in Colfax, Washington, a small town near Moscow, Idaho. My parents and I attended Christ Church when my dad joined the military. Over the years, we've moved thirteen times, Alabama and Germany being some of my favorites. I’m the oldest of eight kids and was homeschooled until I joined Logos in 7th grade. Logos provided a strong classical education and deepened my love for learning. I appreciate how both Logos and my parents taught me not only what to think but how to think, shaping and leading me to grow closer to Christ. I’m eternally grateful for the strong foundation and the love poured into me by my parents, teachers, and friends.

In my free time, I love playing piano and cello and participating in American Heritage Girls. I also enjoyed the challenge, and creativity (and of course, the winning) of being part of a robotics team. My family enjoys doing CrossFit, Tough Mudders, and Spartan races together, as well as hunting, fishing, and camping—activities that have taught me patience and a deep appreciation for nature.

Looking ahead, I plan to attend cosmetology school after graduation. While I’m excited to further my education, my ultimate dream is to be a stay at home wife and mother; homeschooling my future quiver of arrows, using my cosmetology training to serve my church community, and contributing to my family. I believe learning is a lifelong pursuit—one that definitely doesn’t stop here. I also hope to earn my pilot’s license and start a family business down the road."

Elizabeth Galante

Salem, OR

"I live in Salem, Oregon, with my Russian mom, half-Italian and half-Irish dad, two older and one younger brother, a dog, and a cat. I went to public school from kindergarten through the freshman year in high school, which became the turning point for our family’s view of education. Starting my sophomore year, I transferred to Logos and attended our local Logos co-op with my younger brother and church friends. These last three years have been awesome - becoming exposed to classical Christian education and being challenged to grow in my biblical worldview and appreciation of God’s creation and the revelation of Himself through it, and through Jesus Christ. While online learning presented many challenges, from wi-fi issues at our co-op location to feeling overwhelmed by only being able to communicate with teachers and classmates electronically, I was blessed by having godly teachers and classmates and growing deeper in knowledge and my faith.

From age 3 to last year, I danced in ballet, enjoying many seasons of annual Nutcracker and spring performances and achieving recognition by passing Royal Ballet Academy exams (it was nerve-wracking!). Sadly, last summer, I injured my ankle, needed to have surgery, and had to stop dancing. While initially devastated by this untimely end of my dancing career, I was able to start having more time to serve in children’s ministry at my church and restart my study of the violin and play special music at Christmas and Easter at church.

I was grateful to have the opportunity to participate in local missions weeks during the last two summers. Those experiences were life-changing, teaching me to share the love of Jesus with people in our community, from the youngest children, to the homeless, to the elderly in senior living, as well as to my fellow students, who may be experiencing their own challenges. I hope to do more missions trips and to support global missions in whichever way God calls me.

I enjoy reading, children’s ministry, playing the violin, being outdoors (especially the beach!), baking for family and friends, and creating art in various media. After graduation, I plan to work part-time and attend Chemeketa Community College for an early childhood education degree. I would love to teach at a Christian school. One day, I hope to marry and raise a Christian family, and to teach my children to love God and to value learning."

"I’ve been born and raised in New Hampshire and have been homeschooled from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I can remember like it was yesterday when the panic set-in that I’d be starting the adventure of online high school where instead of my mother being my teacher for every subject and my younger brother being my only classmate, I’d now be one of many in a virtual classroom with many peers and new teachers.

At just 14 years old, I attended my first introductory class the summer before my freshman year that would explain all of the intricacies of my new learning platform. I was completely overwhelmed and anxious at this new way of learning but I wish that I could go back in time and tell my younger self that this was going to be the greatest decision we’d ever made regarding my education. The rigor of Logos which initially seemed intimidating, has really helped me to rise to the occasion and grow in my learning. Not only would I want to tell my younger self that all of the hard work would pay off in the form of good grades but that some of the most meaningful relationships that I was going to have would all stem from interacting with teachers and classmates through a computer screen. Staying up late to make hundreds of Latin flashcards for studying would definitely come in handy and all of those weekends when my friends were out having fun while I’m back at home dissecting a perch on our dining room table would be looked back upon as some of the best learning memories!

It wasn’t until sophomore year that I started to find my groove with balancing the load of all honors classes at Logos while also maintaining my sports schedule. Although the days (and late nights!) were filled with focusing on education, continuing athletics at my local high school and other travel teams has been very rewarding. I’ve worked hard at baseball and have been so blessed to have been recruited to play at my number one choice, Cedarville University next year. I can also say that I’m beyond excited to be roommates with a Logos classmate who I’ve become very close with. Having the foundation of a solid Christian education while bonding with others has brought true fellowship that was so desperately needed in my life. LOS has been fundamental in my spiritual and academic growth and I’d like to thank all of my classmates, teachers and more importantly, my family for all of their support and guidance over the years.

I’ve always enjoyed science but Logos has really deepened my love for biology! I will be pursuing a degree in Exercise Science on a pre-chiropractic track and pray that I can use the gifts that God has given me while serving Him in everything."

"I was born in Kirkland, WA; though when I was eight we outgrew our first house and moved out to the country in Duvall, where I spent the next half of my life as the second eldest of eight kids. I learned to read when I was four years old and haven’t since been found without a book close at hand. I've always been homeschooled, and attended three years of CC, where I was a two-time Memory Master. At thirteen, I joined a club swim team, which has become an integral part of my life and schooling. My older sister Clara was the first to take an LOS class, and she enjoyed it so much that I joined the school my freshman year. These last four years at LOS have changed my life in several ways, including, but not limited to: experiencing teacher-student education, forming friendships that have lasted years, meeting dozens of wonderful people, old classmates and new, at successive YECs, and realizing God's presence in my life. High school has been better than I ever imagined because of LOS, I will never forget this experience or the friends I made along the way. I'd like to thank each one of my teachers for helping me in my education and my journey towards Christ.

I have always loved water, whether running through the rain, staring fixedly at a waterfall, or splashing through pools and rivers, and now I swim for hours every day, all for the glory of the Lord. After swimming competitively for over four years under a succession of excellent coaches, my best events are 50, 100, and 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 and 200 breaststroke, and 200 and 400 individual medley. I hope to continue swimming through my gap year and Lord willing on into college. Further up and further in, my friends!"

"Howdy! I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Tennessee. I grew up swimming, jet skiing, and tubing on Tims Ford Lake with my cousins and brothers. When I wasn’t climbing trees, running through fields, helping my mom in the garden, or accompanying my brothers on adventures in the woods, my nose was always in a book. A big fan of mysteries, I believe I read both the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy series a minimum of four times. When I was ten, my family moved out west, settling in northern Utah with a wonderful church (shout-out to Pastor Brian and Refuge Church!), easy access to the mountains, and endless hiking trails. Avid road trippers, we’ve been to almost every western National Park and I've truly fallen in love with the Western United States. I also thoroughly enjoy hunting with my dad, drawing, painting, general crafting, baking, and caring for children. Known as “Miss Matty” by my favorite toddlers, on any given Sunday I can be found carrying two toddlers with four other children underfoot. I was homeschooled until thirteen, when I started at Logos. I am incredibly grateful to my parents for enrolling me in such a wonderful school. Over the past six years at Logos, I have fought wars alongside Odysseus, slayed dragons with Beowulf, and dove headfirst into Christian theology with Luther, Calvin, and Augustine. I have wept with the families of those in Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, tackled the madness of Mein Kampf and Animal Farm, and conquered armies with Alexander The Great. I have explored The Wealth of Nations, read through Democracy in America, and marched to war with our Citizen Soldiers and Hannibal. I accompanied Dante and Virgil through the levels of Hell, and ascended the levels of Paradise with Beatrice. Logos has not only given me a classical Christian education but the tools to continue learning outside of school. I am very grateful to my teachers for not merely teaching me how to understand the material, but how to love learning the material. Mr. Rauch taught me to love math, Dr. Soderberg to love theology and history, and Mr. Thighe to love learning about this crazy economic and political world of ours.

This next year, I will have my second hand surgery, continue to develop my skillset as a homemaker, and enroll at New Saint Andrews for the fall 2026 term."

"I was born in Southwest Ohio and spent the first 17 and a half years there before we moved to East Tennessee to be part of a like-minded church. My parents began homeschooling the year my older sister started 5th grade, I was in kindergarten, and my younger sister was only a few weeks old. They gave me a love of learning that has fueled me to try harder and push deeper in my studies than I thought possible. I started Logos in my sophomore year and have loved every second of it. I made so many amazing friendships that will last me out of high school and into life beyond, and it was so fun to meet people from all over the globe in my classes. Their joyful obedience to Christ and finding humor in every little thing was such an encouragement to me as we went through the long process of moving two states away from all of my friends and family. Amazing teachers like Mr. Kwong, Dr. Soderberg, Mr. Merkle, Mr. Rauch, Mr. Litwin, Mr. Spratt, Mrs. Hedderly, and Mrs. Mutart have made me love and flourish in classes I had dreaded the summer before. Their wisdom, constructive criticism, and willingness to laugh at things that needed to be laughed at have helped shape me into who I am today. Through their help and encouragement, I was able to pass every class with an A.

I love sewing, swing dancing, reading and writing, and would love to devote more time to my creative writing after graduation. Lord willing, I will be getting married and starting a family of my own soon, and I am excited to apply the knowledge that I have gleaned from classes like Consumer Math to running my own home."

"I grew up just outside of Erie, Illinois, and have lived here most of my life. I was homeschooled by my mom until my freshman year of high school, when I was enrolled in Logos Online. I've grown so much in my education since then; this school has been a tremendous blessing. From learning how to speak effectively in Rhetoric to doing my own taxes in Consumer Math, all my Logos classes have grown me in some way.

I've always been very athletic- I played softball for a bit in elementary and middle school, and last year I joined a church volleyball team for the first time and loved it. I've done CrossFit with my mom since I was twelve, and I hope to continue to compete and improve my fitness.

As far as post-high school plans go, I'm leaving to nanny full-time for a family in Des Moines over the summer, after which I hope to start an official nannying business (and hopefully get married!). "I have lived in the Phoenix area for my entire life with my parents and three siblings. I want to thank my family for always being there to uplift and support me as I have grown up, as well as encouraging me in my relationship with the Lord. I attended an in-person Classical school for middle school and most of high school, making the switch to Logos for my Senior year. Although change is seldom easy, I can see now how the Lord used this opportunity to teach me more about myself and Him. It has brought me so much joy to be a part of a curriculum that pursues Truth, Goodness, and Beauty, but also teaches unapologetically where these Virtues originate from and Whom they ought to glorify. Man has been searching relentlessly in an effort to discover his purpose, which has been revealed solely through the Word of God. This Truth brings meaning to our discussions as a class and is the Light by which we navigate the world around us. Over these past two semesters, I have especially enjoyed the life-giving conversations and fun memories with Dr. Stevens and my Humanities class.

I have had a lot of fun as a high schooler getting to participate in extracurriculars like choir and cross country. I love getting outdoors to hike, backpack, and camp. I also enjoyed being involved in my Boy Scout troop and earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

Currently, my plan after high school is to attend Summit Ministries’ Gap Year in Colorado. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, studying God’s Word, and beginning a new chapter in my life. I want to thank everyone who has invested in me and helped me grow into the person that I am today."

"Hi! I was born in Texas, and moved around quite a bit in my youth. After my father retired from 30 years of Air Force service, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida. I've attended two public schools and two private Christian schools before attending LOS. I'm so glad part of God's plan for me involved me attending LOS! By His grace, I learned so much over the past 5 years, and by His providence, I had the privilege to see the application of what I learned in my life. LOS has blessed my family by giving my brothers, sister, and me the capacity to understand our Father's rich historical, cultural, and military knowledge.

I swam competitively all throughout high school, and the tenacity required to succeed in both my schooling and in competitive swimming created a love for hard work in me. I earned the position of Team Captain in my junior and senior years, and I helped my teammates qualify for regional championships both years! My dedication to Club Seminole under Coach Bob Karl earned me a job recommendation to Hosford Swim School, where I work teaching swimming lessons to young children now! I've also been involved with the Tallahassee Irish Step Dancers for 6 years, and I've had the wonderful opportunity to teach beginner classes at our dance school.

God has blessed me with a rich ancestry and many men and women who have given me the honor of preserving their life's work. I hope to pass down all of the knowledge that I have received by God's grace through teaching. I plan to continue my education pursuing an economics degree at Florida State University, and from there I hope to help provide a classical and biblical education for the next generations!

"The majority of the first five years of my life were spent along the Oregon Coast in Coos Bay, Oregon. When I was five, my dad felt called to go to seminary, so our whole family moved to California for another five years. After he graduated, we moved back to Oregon so he could pastor a small church near Boring. Until then, my wonderful mother had always homeschooled me, but my parents decided to enroll me in the local public school for 5th- 7th grade. In 8th grade, I switched to LOS and have loved it ever since! It has been such a wonderful blessing to be the recipient of such Christ-centered education. It has also built up my love of languages, history, and reading.

"Annie Kaiyala here. I’ve lived all over the US and across the world too. I’ve seen beauty in every different place we have lived, from the tree-crowded Mount Rainier foothills of the PNW, to the rocky coastline of Providence, RI, to the tick-infested, poison ivy farms and beautiful green historic home beauty of Connecticut countryside, to the armpit of Springfield, Massachusetts. I’ve seen beauty in the many faces the Lord has brought near, and the beauty of the dry, and at times humid, deserts in the Middle East and Dubai specifically. Now landing in the beautiful Texas, but maybe more than that, what interests me and has me eagerly sitting on the edge of my seat per se, and anticipating excitedly, is the future and what the Lord has for me…for us. I have greatly enjoyed my time at Logos. I am grateful for how much I have learned here, most of all I am very glad to have met my best friend through this school, who truly is more like another sister than anything else. I am excited for my next steps as I finish this chapter of life. I plan to continue working as a barista at a local coffee shop where I have earned many opportunities including the opportunity to hopefully open my own small bakery. Most of all, I hope to slay dragons while cooking in the kitchen and to wipe many a baby butt. I look forward to meeting that one man and making a life with him, full of laughter, an unswerving trust in God, a life bound together making a family and pressing into the darkness with hope, laughter, bad jokes, wrinkles and maybe some rolls, with stains on my favorite sweaters. I look forward to seeing my brothers and sisters grow old with their families, always giving them a hard time over their tisms. I look forward to seeing them have and grow their own families, from giving their kids candy before dinner, to enjoying a huge family Christmas with tons of kids, pancakes, laughter, bad dad jokes, and the deep frying of chicken in 90 degree weather. I look forward to spending my life and all that the Lord gives, following Him. “Let all the earth fear the Lord, Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!""

Noblesville, IN

"I was born and raised in Noblesville, IN, where I have lived my entire life. My educational journey started at our local public elementary school, where I attended through third grade. It was not until fourth grade that I began homeschooling (for which I am incredibly thankful). I was glad to learn alongside my mom and two brothers for several years before participating in Classical Conversations from seventh to ninth grade. For my sophomore year, my parents and I decided to enroll me at LOS.. While I was hesitant at first and initially unsure about attending, now, looking back, I am certain and thankful that God’s providential hand had placed me here for His good purposes.

Outside of academics, I have enjoyed spending much of my time playing sports. For the past twelve years, I have played competitive softball, and for the past four years, I have had the delightful opportunity to play on a homeschool high school team which I truly consider a family. We get the opportunity to play against local high schools, and last year we won the National Association of Christian Athletes’ National Championship in Chattanooga. I have also played competitive ice hockey for six years, traveling all over—from Minnesota to Connecticut, and Canada to Nashville. This season, we won the National Girls Hockey League’s National Championship in Chicago. I am forever thankful for the grittiness and tenacity I have learned through sports, as well as the leadership opportunities and friendships I have received. Through my involvement in athletics, I have also had the joyous privilege of serving as a volunteer coach for our local girls’ hockey team and in the Indianapolis Youth Hockey Association’s Learn to Play Hockey program. Another significant part of my high school experience has been my participation in Scouting America. I joined as a freshman, serving as my troop’s founding Senior Patrol Leader, and this year earned the honorable rank of Eagle Scout. I greatly enjoy hiking, camping, and all things outdoors, and am glad to have had ample opportunities for these hobbies through Scouting. In the limited free time that my various extracurriculars and the rigorous academics at LOS allow, I have enjoyed running an Etsy shop which I started during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through it, I have developed skills in finance, marketing, and customer service while selling handcrafted goods I enjoy making—watercolor/calligraphy bookmarks, scrunchies, and bracelets.

As to what my future holds, I am excited to rejoice in the challenge of Hillsdale College, where I plan to study Political Economy starting next fall. I was blessed with the opportunity to attend the College’s Statesmanship Weekend in Washington D.C., where I earned a generous scholarship through an essay writing competition. During this event, I was also able to catch a transient taste of the school's academic environment—a taste that has led to an only-growing, insatiable thirst. Oh, how eager I am to quench it!"

"I was born and raised in California for most of my life. I went to public school from kindergarten up to seventh grade when the pandemic hit. My mom saw how I was struggling with math and didn't know how to help me because the math my public school gave was gibberish, so my parents decided to homeschool me when they heard about Logos from Crosspolitic. I started my 8th grade with Logos to try it out, and I ended up liking it, so we decided to continue with Logos through my high school years. In my sophomore year of high school, me and my family decided to move to Texas due to California getting expensive. During my five years at Logos I've had some pretty memorable experiences from Mr. Rauch making math jokes, to making connections of homework and Disney movies in Mr. Litwin's class. I've seen the great empires of old with Herodotus, I've ventured to other planets with C.S Lewis, I've seen the bloodshed of the 20 year war of Troy with Odysseus and Homer. I've ventured with Jane Austen when reading Emma and I've seen the deepest depths of hell with Dante. I have never been more grateful for Logos and their teachers for helping me understand all my subjects, even if I did sometimes get buried under homework, I always found a way to make it interesting.

I enjoy spending time with my parents whether it's traveling through the great state of Texas or going to Colorado to see my sister, and also visit Mr. Thighe and his family. I also enjoy making crochet blankets and stuffed animals for the babies at my church. I like to play my piano and sometimes my flute, if I have time. I plan on going to Abilene Christian University and major in Business management."

"I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and lived in Nashua, New Hampshire, until I finished second grade. I then moved to Round Rock, Texas, in the summer of 2015. From third grade through eighth grade, I attended a private Christian school called Redeemer Lutheran School and graduated from middle school. Instead of attending a high school affiliated with Redeemer, I found myself here at Logos Online.

I’ve got to say that while I definitely missed the in-person school experience, Logos Online has been nothing but a blessing. It has strengthened and grown my faith in ways I don’t think would have been possible had I not attended. From debates and theology to reading about great historical wars and events, this school has provided me with a unique education for which I will forever be grateful.

After graduating, I plan to attend Austin Community College and then transfer to Texas A&M to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. I’ve also had a growing interest in joining the Army over the past few years, so after earning my degree, I plan to fulfill my goal of serving in the U.S. Army."

"Prior to joining LOS, my mom homeschooled me since the 1st grade. We did numerous programs and co-ops until my 7th grade year. My 8th grade year we switched gears to challenge me further, and the Lord provided us with Logos. The Lord had great plans when He provided this school, and it has been such a blessing since. The strong biblical teaching led by amazing teachers, the great academics that challenged me to push myself further in my education, and friendships I will hold dearly. It wasn't always easy, but this school gave me skills in working hard to take my education seriously. Logos has also encouraged me spiritually in my walk with the Lord and gaining a greater love for Him. I am extremely thankful to have a Christ-centered education and I pray that I will always hold steadfast to this. My plan this fall is to study an Occupational Therapy assistant program at my community college. Lord-willing after that, I can transfer and work for a full masters degree as an OT. I recently discovered I have a passion for this field and I'm excited to see how I can honor the Lord in this career. I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store! 1 Timothy 4:12 "Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself to be an example of those who believe.""

"I was born and raised in Orange County, CA. At the tender age of 4, I asked my parents if I could start school, so I could be like my sister. Since beginning school, I have been classically trained - from my mom attempting to teach me Latin (which she learned along the way) to making volcanos in the backyard with my dad, to reciting Shakespeare and doing math on the floor with cut out shapes. In the 6th grade I joined the Logos family, doing Algebra 1 with Mr. Rauch (math has always been my strong suit).

I cannot place a value on the amazing education I have been given through Logos - the incredible teachers, the discussions, and Christian culture. I have grown tremendously in my faith, through reading great works in Humanities, having everything pointed to Christ, and having an academic community pushing me to ponder my beliefs and know what I believe and why I believe it.

Outside of school, I love to play board games, sing (I was in choir for 6 years, I am in a worship team for a homeschool group this year, and also love just singing to myself), play guitar and piano, travel, press/dry flowers, and swing dance. I am a competitive gymnast and have competed for 10 years and am sad to be finishing at the end of May.

Amidst juggling all these interests, I have worked as a gymnastics coach for the last 2.5 years, and have been an English and Civics teacher's assistant since November.

In the Fall, I will be moving to Michigan to attend Hillsdale College with a major in Business and minor in Computer Science. I hope to one day homeschool my own kids, giving them just as amazing of an education as I have been blessed with."

We traveled for 5 years until last year when we decided to move back to Washington. My favorite things about traveling full-time was exploring the scenery and eating at different kinds of restaurants. I joined Logos in my Sophomore year. "A born and raised Vermonter, I live with my parents and three younger siblings on the shores of Lake Champlain. I have been homeschooled for as long as I can remember starting with Classical Conversations then transitioning to Logos in ninth grade. I loved Logos from the start.

I enjoyed the deadlines and receiving real grades back. While in high school I participated in many sports at our local public school, my favorite being basketball. Every morning, I found it very refreshing to come back to the Christian environment of Logos. I have always enjoyed logging on to my classes and seeing all my classmates. This fall I will be attending Cedarville University where I will be rooming with a good friend I met through Logos. I plan to study finance and have committed to the Men's Basketball team. I am forever thankful for my teachers and the education I received through Logos and am excited to continue learning in a Christian environment."

"I was born in the Chicago area before my parents moved to South Carolina, and then to Minnesota. A few months ago we moved again to a more rural part of Minnesota and we love it. My mother homeschooled me through 6th grade, I skipped 7th grade and attended Veritas Online School for a year before switching to LOS for my high school years, which is far better.

I have taken piano for about a decade and enjoy reading, writing, and pounding away at the piano. Recently, I wrote a paper to my library to convince them to be more faithful to their history section. I also wrote a poem called The Robin that appeared in the LOS Newspaper last year. I enjoy Shakespeare very much and got to act in The Tempest last summer. I have also read nearly two-thirds of his work as of now.

I have loved studying at LOS for the past four years, and can safely say that I will miss it very much. However, I am eagerly looking forward to attending Bethlehem College and Seminary (a liberal arts college in Minneapolis) this coming fall. I want to become a better follower of Christ by studying the Bible and other great books, and hope to honor Him by educating my own children someday, and teaching, or writing sometime in the future."

"I grew up in Vancouver, Washington for most of my life until 15 when my family moved to Arizona. Throughout, I've been homeschooled up until sophomore year where I was enrolled in LOS. For the three years I've been here, I've found incredible success in my studies, understanding the material in great detail, and being able to recall and interact with the class. I've also found very good friends all over the country that lift me up and support me in my endeavors.

I'm a self-taught artist and fill my sketchbooks and corners of homework pages with doodles. I can't keep my imagination still, it just keeps running from me! I also write the worlds that fill up my head--the heroes and villains that shape my daydreams. Many wars and loves have flown across the pages of my documents. (I even decided to write a mini novel in my Geometry class my sophomore year.)

With the time I've gained from online school, I've been pursuing my love for art and story. I've been able to work on my novels and share them with others. Through class lectures, I've been able to work on art pieces while listening to my teachers.

After I finish this year, my plans are to go into a deeper understanding of art, and hopefully to get into animation and film. Movies have always inspired me, and I'm hoping to create my own movies and short films."

"I was born in Las Vegas but have lived in Boulder City, Nevada for the past eleven years. This summer, my family and I are Tennessee bound and putting down new roots.

I was homeschooled from the beginning and joined Logos in the 7th grade. My mama has been the faithful hand behind teaching me traditional values, a diligent prayer life, the art of homemaking, and the beauty of doing it all with a sense of humor. My dad taught me the importance of putting Jesus and family first, setting my priorities straight, as well as putting up with the many tears shed over math homework at the kitchen table. I’m the oldest of five, which has come with its fair share of hilarious and tear-jerking moments. Being the guinea pig of the family wasn’t always easy, but I wouldn’t change a thing or trade it for the world, it has shaped me for the better.

I am thankful for this education and for all the opportunities that have come from it. I met my absolute best friend (the kind that feels like blood) and her sweet family through this school, which has taken me out to Texas a good handful of times. Along with other great connections I’ll treasure.

I love strong coffee, road-trips, The Office, murder mystery books, and country music. I rodeoed all four years of high school, barrel racing, and pole bending. I can’t fathom a life without horses and Lord willing will own plenty in my lifetime. I’ve worked as a barista at a coffee shop, a hostess at a local BBQ restaurant, and now babysit full time. I plan to go to cosmetology school in the fall and look forward to embracing my passion for all things lovely as a Nashville-based hair stylist. For as long as I can possibly remember all I’ve ever really wanted is to be a wife, mama, and homemaker. The joys of having way too many babies to hold and a good man to help me wrangle them, have kept me eagerly anticipating the future for a very long time. That’s my heart’s whole aim and I’ll go wherever the Lord takes me to get those things.

So as for me, I plan to spend every breath with intention; pouring it into the people I love, the home I build, and the faith that holds me fast. Appreciating the value of a moment before it becomes a memory. Living honestly, loving hard, and counting it all joy all the way to the end."

"Towards the end of 8th grade, my parents told me about Logos. Without failing to mention its rigor, they asked me if I wanted to enroll. I saw it as a challenge and an opportunity to expand my horizons. Eager to push my limits, I accepted their offer, excited about the prospect of deepening my understanding of subjects that had always intrigued me. At the beginning of my first year at Logos, I grew a love for submitting my assignments. This gave me a sense of prideI had I rarely experienced being homeschooled. Though, I didn't quite experience how difficult the school was until my first rodeo of finals. At the time I was more interested in volunteering as a worship leader at my church. My parents then told me that if I didn't get A's or B's on all my finals, I would have to quit the worship team. This was my first real challenge going to this school, and I came out of it still a worship leader. Though I hated the discipline in the moment, my parents taught me that there is no excuse to not do well in school. Because, at the time, I had never done finals before until Logos. Despite all the tears and loss of sleep, I came out of it alright.

The summer before my sophomore year, my father had a heart attack. This took a toll on how I performed during the school year. Readings assigned began to feel heavier; I ended up hating geometry, and I was barely getting by. I also thought that all of my work was pointless, because due to my plans, college was not on the agenda. This is when I revisited my original desire to go to public school. Getting to see my friends every day and bringing home a light workload was a mirage. At the time, I regretted going to this school and resented my parents for their rightful discipline.

In my junior year, I finally met some friends. It was comforting to know that I wasn’t the only one struggling. It was also empowering to know that, though these students have struggled, they made no excuse for their weakness to deter their rigor. This inspired me to do better in my studies, even if college wasn't the plan, and led me to truly appreciate Logos. I saw that my education summed up the teachings of Scripture; City of God became like reading one of Paul’s letters, Martin Luther resembled the faithfulness of Job, and Foxe's Book of Martyrs was a test of my faith.

This year has been consistent with the last. Logos has helped me see the beauty of God’s creation in all areas of study, especially the challenging parts. Though there was a time when I absolutely hated school, God used Logos to transform me into someone who seeks to learn all the time, in every way, about everything."

"Long before I was born my parents decided that public schools were no place for children. So rather than sending us three youngsters (me and my two older brothers) to a private school, they chose to train us up in the teaching and admonition of the Lord. After many years of faithful tutelage, my parents decided the days of being able to teach three little boys their ABCs were gone, so that’s when we found LOS!

I’ve been attending LOS for six years now, and cannot overstate the impact it has had on my character and my faith. Despite the fact that a new teacher might be from Idaho, Texas, or any other locality, the common theme among LOS staff is loving the Lord through training students to be godly. Throughout my time at LOS I’ve been avidly involved in the sports of both hockey and football. Great sports of themselves, they present challenges to any young man in the areas of leadership, work ethic, and faith. Thanks to the training at LOS, my time in locker rooms and sports arenas has been fruitful in all three areas. In the past two years I’ve been peer-nominated as the captain of the hockey team, as well as senior year captain of the football team. This past hockey season I was awarded the Hobey Baker character award, an award given out to a single player each year. And through these years of high-school I’ve had the opportunity to start and lead Bible studies on various teams. When not on the ice or field I’ve had the privilege of serving as President and VP of the local 4-H Club, President and VP of the Tutoring Club, and VP of the Bible study Club. I sincerely believe that LOS has had a hand in all of this and particularly in the area of my faith.

During my junior year of high-school I had a decision plunked upon me that is plunked upon every other junior: what do you want to do with your life? This decision is also known as “college.” After some time of discouragement in making this decision, I realized that the choice wasn’t about who I wanted to be, rather it was about who I could be to best serve God. This made me assess my talents and leanings. I loved the learning and leadership of clubs and sports and I also loved tools from a very young age. So when a Kenyan missionary pilot from our church told me I was going to Moody Bible Institute for Aviation, I was interested. After junior year YEC my dad and I stopped by Moody in Washington to check it out. It was the place. After I committed to spending the next 5 years there, I dove headfirst into the aviation world and am training to become a missionary mechanic to follow God’s calling wherever he leads."

"I've always been in the public school system, until Covid struck. My parents didn't want me to go back to public school since it was becoming more corrupt. So in the 8th grade they put me in FCA (another online school). I didn't feel like I was learning anything. Once that school year finished we heard from some friends of my family about Logos. So, I joined my freshman year.

I enjoy reading/writing. I love playing pickle ball, and volleyball with my friends. I love to sing and dance when nobody is watching me. I adore music, and spending quality time with people I love.

"I was born in Iowa, but moved to Ontario, Canada at a young age. In 2019, my family went to Australia for five months for my Dad’s work sabbatical. Soon after we got home, we moved to Manhattan, Kansas. I was homeschooled until 7th grade, and then part-time with Logos Online until high school. I have been full-time with Logos for the last four years, and I have learned so, so much here. I am extremely grateful for the effort and time my teachers have put into making me a better student. No book read, no essay written, no hour spent in class was in vain. The last four years have been invaluable in my educational journey.

I’ve played piano off and on for the last ten or so years, and had the privilege of playing the prelude for my brother’s wedding last January. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, drawing, crocheting, and exploring the outdoors. For the last year, I have been employed at the local Chick-fil-A, and I am launching a small business on Etsy as well.

"Hello, my name is Zeke Redfern, I would like to walk you through my educational experience thus far. I have been homeschooled most of my life, since I was in 1st grade to be exact, and I have really enjoyed it so far. During my high school years, I did Logos online and it has been a great blessing from God to receive an education online through a Christian community! I have really enjoyed doing Logos online for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, like I said previously, it is a Christian program with Christian teachers. I would have never done such a school if it had been a secular one, for if it was, I would have the temptation of becoming like the world, and that is what the Bible teaches and warns against. Second, I love how welcoming and open the teachers are to help students in any area of their life, whether that be through prayer or through homework problems. And the last of, but not all of the qualities that I enjoyed about this program is that is it accredited. This is another main thing a school needs to have to be beneficial for the student's lives in the future. An example of this is, for me I am planning on going on to do more education at the college The Master's University, and for that University, it is important to but not limited to have a certified award saying that my education up till now is genuine! As I conclude my take on how I have enjoyed my education up till now, I would really recommend anyone who is interested in this type of education to pursue it! God has blessed a program such as Logos to share the gospel through education, and I have learned a lot and have also been greatly blessed!"

Billings, MT

"I was born in a little town in upstate New York called Cooperstown, but if you ask me where I'm from I'll say Powell, Wyoming. After driving an hour and a half to a CREC church in Billings, Montana for five years, we moved there in 2021. I was blessed to grow up in a faithful family with my mom and dad, four siblings, (I'm in the exact middle!) and a handful of cats and dogs.

I have been homeschooled all my life, dabbling in a few curriculums in elementary school including Abeka and Logos Press, with my loving and long-suffering mother as a teacher. Following in the footsteps of my older sister and brother, (both LOS graduates) I was enrolled in LOS for my 7th grade year. After 6 years, I can confidently say that it has been a wonderful school experience, and I'm so thankful for my parents, and all the teachers that have supported and encouraged me throughout it all! I have met so many amazing and godly people in my time here, students and teachers alike.

I have worked at my local Evergreen Ace Hardware for the past three years and will miss my boss and all my awesome coworkers when I move. Beyond work and school, I am a classically trained pianist of 12 years. I have been the pianist at my church for the last 6 years, played for a few weddings, and you may recognize me from the last two LOS graduation ceremonies! Though I love Rachmaninoff, Bach, and Beethoven, you really can't go wrong with Billy Joel, John Williams, and 80's and 90's country.

Living in Wyoming and Montana has had its benefits, as I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, camping, and paddle boarding in the summer, and skiing in the winter. Back in August of 2024, and for seemingly no reason, I somehow convinced my dad and I to get into motorcycling, and my two brothers joined in our new adventure shortly after. I'm excited to be taking my Africa Twin 1100 on the Idaho BDR (1,400 miles of dirt roads from the ID/NV border to the ID/Canada border) with my dad and brothers at the end of July.

I was accepted at the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID, and plan on attending in the fall. I'll be pursuing music production/performance and music business. Really, what I'm most excited for is seeing my niece and nephew every day, though I guess college will be cool too. :)

Thank you to my parents, siblings, and friends for their support, correction, and encouragement, and to all the LOS teachers and faculty for their hard work, diligence, and care for every student. God has blessed me with an amazing family and given me so many opportunities that I'm so grateful for. I look forward to this next chapter of my life, and I hope that God is glorified in all of it!"

"I was born and raised in northeast Kansas until I was 8, then we moved to west central Texas. My mom homeschooled me through 5th grade, then enrolled me in a hybrid homeschool academy called Cross Classical. I attended there 6th-8th grade and then enrolled in Logos my freshman year. I wanted to go to public school with my friends, but my parents decided to enroll me in LOS instead. It’s been one of the best decisions for me. Logos has grown me so much in my faith, friendships, and academic skills and I would be a very different person if my parents had given into my wishes and not followed God’s prompting.

I’ve always enjoyed art, creative writing, and reading, but I also enjoy getting outside, going on hikes or camping (when I get the chance), and recently, running. This year, I’ve completed two half-marathons (a feat I never thought I’d achieve) and am aiming for a marathon. For right now, I plan to enter the workforce until God calls me elsewhere."

I’ve enjoyed all of my LOS classes since I joined 3 years ago! I’ve had a variety of teachers over my 3 years, and I’ve learned much under each, for which I’m grateful to them! From Latin and Greek with Mr. Merkle, to Advanced Biology with Dr. G-P,, and from Humanities with Mr. Litwin, Dr. Soderberg, and Dr. Olsson, to Senior Thesis and Five Solas with Mr. Smith, and Apologetics with Mr. Lorenzana, I’ve had an amazing 3 years at this school!

When I was 9 I started ballet at a local studio and was there for the next 5 years. After ballet, my focus turned to music and I dabbled in a bit of flute, and then picked up ukulele and mandolin which I quite enjoy playing! I’ve also tried my hand at baking which I quite enjoy to do! After graduation, I plan to continue academic endeavors in a variety of ways, including gap year classes with Mr. Smith. "I grew up going to public school almost my whole life. I was in art clubs and bands among other things until my eighth-grade year. During this year I noticed some things that didn't align with our family values, and I am so grateful to the Lord that I have an option when it comes to education. During my eighth-grade year is when we started looking for alternate education routes. We tried out a few different schools and then found Logos Online! My aunts and uncles went to the physical school when they were my age and so we tried the online route since we did not live in Moscow, ID. The first year was a rocky transition, but so worth it. I ended up falling in love with learning again and found that God’s provision was on this whole journey. Logos rekindled a love of reading, and I found that science was something I had looked over in the past, but now had a new joy in it. I am challenged at Logos, but that is a good thing. It has taught me to be diligent and be thankful for the opportunities that the Lord gives me. This coming fall, I am planning on going to Portland Bible College to study theology, and I am forever grateful to the Lord, my parents, and Logos for giving me a head-start in a new life that I am about to embark on!"

"I was born and raised in Ohio, where I attended a local public school until 7th grade. I taught myself using textbooks and online courses until freshman year when my brother introduced us to Logos. Since then, I have been extremely grateful for all of the support from my fellow students and teachers.

When I was seven, I joined the Tuscarawas County Fair, showing horses in all the disciplines offered, and have served as President of my 4H club for the past three years. This senior year has been full of tough life decisions and long working hours, but, God willing, I will be joining the Air Force Reserve this summer, and continuing my education to get a degree in accounting to help my future husband run his business."

"Over the years, I’ve been through just about every kind of schooling you can think of: public school (or as some like to call it, public prison), classical private Christian school, homeschool, and now online learning through Logos. Out of every school I’ve been to, Logos by far has been the most impactful. Logos has challenged me academically but also helped me grow spiritually. Here, I’ve grown in my faith, deepened my love for God, and learned how to live a Christ-centered life. Logos also is where I discovered a love for reading, something I now truly enjoy in my spare time.

I’m excited to share that I’ve been accepted and will be attending Liberty University. I plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in nursing, as helping others has always been something I’ve felt called to do. I hope to use this calling to serve wherever God leads me.

Looking back, I can clearly see how God has worked through every step of my journey. I’m grateful for the opportunities He has given me, and I trust Him with whatever comes next in this new chapter of my life!"

"I was born and raised in Indiana, where I live near Indianapolis on seven acres of land with a dog, two cats, two horses, and twenty-six chickens. I started taking classes with LOS my freshman year after attending various private schools and co-ops. I have met some very interesting people during the past few years, and I have made some great friends.

I enjoyed all of my Integrated Humanities classes especially, which challenged my theological and philosophical thinking. I've been learning Latin since the third grade, but the Latin classes I've taken through LOS have been stellar for deepening my understanding of the subject. Learning Latin helped me expand my knowledge of other languages as well, specifically Italian. I taught myself how to read Italian, and I read Dante's Divine Comedy in its original Italian text. It was incredible to compare the original poem to the English translated version, seeing how much the poetic aspects and accuracy is lost when a text is translated. I was asked by my Humanities III teacher, Dr. Gregory Soderberg, to create and share a presentation on Dante's Italian poetry, which was a special experience because I could share my observations with my classmates. It was really great to see teachers caring about each student, and letting their individual talents and knowledge flourish.

I also had the pleasure of working on the LOS yearbook as soon as it started my sophomore year, and was the editor-in-chief for Yearbook Club. I had worked on yearbooks before, so I jumped at the chance to create the first LOS yearbook. I love art, so being part of Yearbook Club was a great way to improve my eye for art and design. Outside of school, I enjoy playing acoustic & electric guitar, and bass."

"Logos was the best thing that ever happened to my relationship with Christ. Before I attended Logos I went to church but I never really cared for it. I only joined Logos because two of my friends were also joining it. But as I continued to get an education here I started to explore faith more, I felt things about it that had always been missing. The books I read, the people I met, the classes I took, they all helped me see Christ in a new light. Before Logos I didn't know much about my faith, it was unstable. Now after four years of my high school journey I feel ready to show the world Jesus the way I have come to see him. Maybe I won’t remember everything I learned here, but one thing I won’t lose is my courage and faith in God's plans for me, because courage need not be remembered, for it is never forgotten."

"I grew up homeschooled alongside my five younger siblings in central Wisconsin, and joined LOS in eighth grade.

Outside of the classroom, I am a serious pre-professional violinist. I began lessons at age four through my local Suzuki center, and since age twelve, I have studied with my current teacher, the violin professor at the local university. I joined the Central Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras in fourth grade, and in sophomore year, my parents and I made the decision to begin commuting to the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras, where I am currently the concertmaster of Youth Orchestra, and a three-year member of the Pondrom Honors Quartet.

I am very thankful to have had many incredible opportunities throughout my pre-college music career. I made my solo orchestral debut with the Madison Symphony Orchestra at age twelve, and I have since appeared as a soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra, Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra, Civic Symphony of Green Bay, Birch Creek Symphony, Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra, Central Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra, and American Suzuki Institute Advanced Chamber Orchestra. I also appeared on NPR’s From the Top in 2023 as a Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist, and presented recitals on WPR’s The Midday in 2024 and the Salon se Lève concert series in 2025. My competition awards include grand prize winner of the 2024 Minnesota Orchestra YPSCA’s Concerto Competition and the 2023 Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s Audrey G. Baird Stars of Tomorrow Competition, and second prize winner and recipient of the Steenbock Youth Music Award of the 2024 Madison Symphony Orchestra’s Bolz Young Artist Competition: The Final Forte, which was broadcast live on PBS Wisconsin and WPR. As a chamber musician, I have performed with the Pondrom Quartet on WPR’s The Midday in April 2025, 2024, and 2023; we also had the amazing experience of participating in the finals of the 2023 Saint Paul String Quartet Competition, from which we took home the Silver Medal and the BIPOC special prize.

I have also taken piano lessons for the past five years, and I played lead roles in several community musical theatre productions throughout high school, prior to which I studied dance seriously for six years. I am also the current president of my 4-H club and a member of my youth group. In my free time, I enjoy watching Psych, Monk, and various other shows and movies with my oldest brother, and going on bike rides with my family. This coming fall, I am extremely excited to be attending Rice University to pursue a Bachelor of Music Degree in Violin Performance, in the studio of Professor Paul Kantor. Later on, I hope to pursue my Master’s and possibly Artist Diploma degrees, all while taking orchestral auditions to secure a job in a professional orchestra. Hopefully, my future will also include chamber music with friends and colleagues, lots of deli sandwiches and ice cream, and a couple of fluffy kittens."

"I am the youngest of 3 (small by Logos standards, I know). I enjoy baking, riding horses, studying the Bible, and listening to music. I was raised in church and my paternal grandfather and great-grandfather were both pastors, so my whole family was supportive of my faith. I am from Texas where homeschooling was fairly common even before 2020. I grew up always involved in a homeschool group in one way or another and I have my mother to thank for that.

I have been classically homeschooled my whole life, first in Classical Conversations from K-8th and eventually Logos Online. Both of my older siblings graduated from LOS. I have always loved the freedom of choosing my own schedule and never having to leave my house early in the morning for school like all my friends. My mom first heard about LOS from a friend of a friend when looking for a new program for my older brother's sophomore year, that was 2017. "I was homeschooled my whole childhood up until my 9th grade year. At that point my mom, dreading the thought of teaching me Physics and Trigonometry, and dad started me at Logos. To describe the journey...it's not easy. I owe where I am now in my faith a good deal to how God has worked in me through Logos. I have been led by many faithful, loving, Christ-honoring teachers on a long journey. One in which I have studied the very character of God with Packer, heard slaves speak of horrors and of joys of slavery, seen the vanity of the cultural dumpster fire that is postmodernism, laughed with MacDonald, cried with Remarque as Kat died. I have seen Homeric titans slayed and the glorious Roman empire fall. I have burnt many Leaves of Grass and ventured into Hitler's own thoughts. Logos has given me a taste of what it is to live in this wonderful magical world, full of wind and glory, all the while keeping me safe at my desk - and that's only one subject!

Extracurriculars include leading Movies and Music club my Sophomore year (thank you Mr. Rauch!), starting Bible Study club my Junior year, and starting a Bible study with a great group of LOS friends my Sophomore year which continues to this day, praise be to God!"

"It is a blessing to have a Christ-centered education, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of Logos Online. I spent the majority of my childhood and elementary years in a private Christian school in Virginia, then switched to homeschooling as well as moving to Moscow, Idaho. I am very grateful to my parents and teachers who have shaped me into who I am today and who encouraged, challenged, and supported me throughout my education. I had the joy of playing volleyball for 4 years and representing the Logos Lions in a few of those seasons. In my senior year, I decided to pursue powerlifting and it has been such a fun journey. I competed in a local powerlifting meet and love the gym community. After high school I plan to pursue Liberal Arts at New College Franklin in Tennessee. "I was born and raised in the beautiful state of CO in the crazy city of Denver. I was in public schools up until high school, when my lovely parents realized what kind of education I was getting, and what I could be getting at a school like LOS. I am tremendously grateful for everything I've learned these past four years at Logos, where I have grown in my knowledge and faith in the Lord.

Apart from school, I have been playing piano since I was 5, and am currently aiding in my church's worship services on Sunday mornings. I have tried numerous sports throughout the years, but playing volleyball these last 2 years has definitely been my favorite. I have also recently started a baking business (or at least am trying to), and I am hoping to grow it more this summer with farmers markets and the like.

My family got two sweet old horses last year, as well as a 9-month old a few weeks ago. I never would have guessed I would be living the western life in the middle of the city, but God continues to surprise me. It has been marvelous learning everything that comes along with caring for such beautiful creatures, and learning it all with (and from) my wonderful mother. Some other things I enjoy are learning how to fly with my awesome-pilot-father, hiking/skiing/snowboarding around God's glorious creation, and helping my family in the continuous hospitality we provide for our small, but mighty, church.

As I graduate high school, I plan to pursue a cosmetology license in the fall, to become a hairdresser after that. I will also continuously trust in God's plans for my life, as well as grow more into a Proverbs 31 woman each day, hoping to be a wife and mother in the future.

I want to thank my family; my rowdy brothers for always keeping it interesting, and my amazing parents for always being there for me, keeping me on the straight and narrow path through my highs and lows. A big thanks as well to all of my Logos teachers through these past years, who have shown me how important a Christ-centered education is. It has been a true pleasure to be a part of this school!"

Emmett Torrey

"I was born and raised in Alma, Nebraska. When I was young, my parents decided they did not want their children going through the public school system, so my siblings and I were homeschooled. A small town coffee shop and film lab was our "academy” until I was 10 years old; at which time my parents decided to sell the business and dedicate more time to the education of their small horde of children. In 7th grade, I was allowed to take some electives at the local public school so that I could participate in sports. I participated in jr. high band, choir (begrudgingly at the time), cross country, track, and basketball. Juggling a somewhat hectic homeschool schedule with public school activities was difficult, but midway through 8th grade my parents discovered Logos Online School and enrolled me for freshman year. The structure was a good change, and it fit nicely with my extracurriculars. Beginning high school, I continued to participate in marching, jazz, and concert bands, sports, as well as choir and jazz choir, which I had learned to enjoy.

Some musical endeavors: My freshman year I earned a superior rating for my baritone saxophone solo at the district music competition. In my sophomore and junior years a friend and I received superior ratings and outstanding performance awards for our tenor sax and euphonium duet. I was blessed to have been a part of four large ensembles (Band, Jazz Band, Choir, and Jazz Choir) that have not failed to earn a superior award at the district music contest since the 1980s.

In the summer of 2024 we moved to the city of Lincoln Nebraska, where there was an established homeschooled co-op. I played defensive and offensive line for the homeschool flag football team. In our league of four teams, we went undefeated.

Extracurriculars were awesome and they certainly have their place, but God has laid the blessings on extra thick through LOS –more than in any sport or music program. Through teachers and positive peer pressure, I have learned the value of discipline, the love of learning, and ever increasingly, the fear of God. There is no doubt in my mind that the friendships made here will endure for eternity. Really I cannot emphasize enough how great it has been and how fondly I will remember it."

Favorite in-class experiences: "Talking about jazz and Nacho Libre with Mr. Pineiro and friends, participating in the madness that was 6am chemistry with Mr. Luke, conversations about etymology and theology with Mr. Merkle, and deep discussions with great friends in all four years of integrated humanities"

"I was raised in a Christian household but never pursued a Christian education until the pandemic hit in 2020. My family and I researched several homeschool options before finally discovering Logos Online. I was pleasantly surprised by the change of pace in the classroom and the overall atmosphere. I am so grateful for the Lord leading me to Logos, where I was able to pursue an education that would allow me to solidify my foundation in Christ and flourish in my studies.

My favorite hobbies are baking, crafting, and martial arts. I am a certified instructor at our local academy and have won first place in the National Women’s Division for the past two years. I am working to earn my fourth-degree black belt this July and plan to continue MMA through college. I am so thankful for my martial arts experiences, which have shaped me into who I am today. "I was born in a small city in Northern Alberta, Canada and joined LOS in the footsteps of two of my older siblings. I was homeschooled from the beginning with my mother as my teacher, adding a few online classes in grade 7 and then eventually switched to LOS full time in grade 10. Although a massive switch in programming, I found LOS to satisfy my hunger for more impactful discussions and challenging content.

Throughout my high school years I developed many interests - soccer, sprinting, writing poetry, and, most importantly, a love for apologetics, philosophy, and psychology. From my childhood and into my teen years I can see how God has instilled in my heart a love for people and apologetics along with the use of game development to further reach others for His Glory. I am planning to go to university to major in Informational Technologies and minor in Apologetics. I can see my future self as a Youth Pastor using technology combined with apologetics to teach others…and perhaps develop games, apps, and other potentially useful programs.

My time at LOS has contributed towards my future, stimulating me to learn more about God's infinite grace, endless joy, knowledge, and love. I will always be grateful for these years and the opportunity to learn from the teachers and my fellow classmates."

"I have spent the majority of my life in Berea, Kentucky, I attended Classical Conversations from about 2nd grade through 7th grade. It was toward the end of Challenge A my mom and I realized I needed something different, so we began looking into Christian schools, which is when I found Logos Online. I began attending Logos Online in 8th grade and it has suited me perfectly. I have always loved learning about History, and getting to study it through the Omnibus has been an incredible experience. I am especially grateful to Mr. Spratt for always providing me with clear and honest critique of my work and stretching me to do my best work, and to Dr. Soderberg for encouraging me to see God in all the books we read in Humanities III and to better understand the Bible through Apologetics, while also making it fun. I have grown so much not only in knowledge but in character and faith thanks to the incredible teachers and classmates I have had at Logos.

I will be going on to Templeton Honors College at Eastern University. I have been blessed with an amazing scholarship and plan to pursue God's purpose for my life through my education there. I hope to get a degree in History and would love to teach at a Classical Christian school someday. I am excited for the next chapter of my life and hope to glorify God through it."

"I was born at a very young age, and I was homeschooled from 1st grade to 12th grade (counting Logos as homeschooling). I have been super blessed in my schooling, and I'm super grateful my parents made sure I got a Christian education. Logos has been a huge blessing to me, and has instilled a love of learning in me that I hope lasts forever. I have had a blast in many different classes, and each one holds a special place in my memory. (Thank you Mr. Goode, Dr. Soderberg, Mrs. Mutart, Mr. Kwong, Mr. Litwin, and Mr. Spratt for teaching me, being awesome, and putting up with my jokes and general goofiness (hat day shoutout!)). I used to live in New Mexico, but last year I moved to the beautiful state of Idaho. Outside of school, I enjoy playing video games, watching movies (many of my classmates will know I’m a big movie nerd), listening to music, and biking (I also like parenthesis). I am very glad I did Logos, and after graduation I want to become a good sub-creator. I want to make good art that pleases God and feeds others. Specifically, I want to make my own movies. After I graduate, my current plan is to work for at least this summer, and then figure out from there what I am going to do, whether it be trade school, college, or something else, and someday I hope to start a family. "I was born and raised in Oregon with four older sisters and a younger brother. I’ve had a mix of homeschooling and public school, and decided on Logos starting my sophomore year. I’ve been grateful for classes and teachers that point everything back to Christ, and are able to integrate faith into our lessons. It’s also been a blessing to be able to take my classes with a group of kids from my area. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my nephews, playing electric guitar, reading, painting, and doing pottery. When the weather here finally warms up enough, I love getting outside and hiking, mountain biking, and paddleboarding. I plan to work this summer and start community college in the fall. My goal is to transfer to a larger college to get my bachelor’s degree in nursing. Although I’m not completely sure at the moment, I hope to continue on to get a master’s degree in nurse-midwifery. "I am Amber Waltrip and I have lived in Northwest Arkansas all my life with my parents and younger brother. I was in a private school that my extended family started up to ninth grade. My parents became owners of the school for the last three years until they decided to change the mission of the school and partner with our church. I then started Logos Online sophomore to senior year. I have enjoyed the different approach that Logos has given me, especially in my first two years of Integrated Humanities. I have learned so much about how to apply a biblical worldview to this world of chaos. I want to raise kids (hopefully seven ;)) in this world, but before Logos I thought it was risky and was advised against it because of the world they would be in. "I grew up my whole life homeschooled. Before Logos, I was involved with a co-op called Classical Conversations. Through the word of a friend, we learned about Logos, and I enrolled in my 8th grade year. I have truly loved every minute I have had with Logos. My teachers continually helped me draw closer to the Lord and encouraged my heart. I've had the opportunity to read various forms of literature. Although an online school doesn’t have the same interaction as an in-person school, I have made several close friends. I’ve made countless memories both in and out of classes. I am so thankful for the opportunity Logos gave me! This fall, I will attend Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky, where I intend to study teacher education.

Since I was about 9 years old, I have been playing piano. I have been involved with a program called the Texas Music Teachers Association. In that program, I have taken multiple music theory tests, tested on the knowledge of composers and music history, played in ensembles at conventions, played memorized sonatinas in front of judges, and displayed music boards at conventions."

"I'm Naomi Weingard and I have lived in rural Pennsylvania my whole life! I attended my local public school when I was 5 for kindergarten, and I stayed there until 2nd grade when we decided to try a PA online/homeschooling curriculum. I then went back to public school for 4th and 5th grade, then we started using a different PA cyber school. I stayed using their program through 8th grade. That's when my dad brought up LOS, and I'll be honest I did not want to join the school, I wanted to go back to public school. Ultimately, I ended up here and I've been in this school for four years which is the longest I've stayed in one school. I've gotten an amazing education, one I wouldn't have if I went back to public school. It was a challenge coming from really easy online schools to one where I really had to apply myself, but I think it grew me as a person and has prepared me for whatever I go on to do after school!"

"I was born and raised in Lanzhou, China, where my family were missionaries for over a decade. After the door was closed for us to continue to live in China, we moved to Peru (my mother’s home country) where we continued to be missionaries for three more years. After that, we moved to Oklahoma (my father’s home state) where we have been living for the past few years. I was homeschooled for Pre-K through 2nd grade, but briefly attended a private international school in China for 3rd and 4th grade. I went back to homeschooling until I joined Logos in 7th grade which I have continued to do ever since. Logos has been a wonderful fit for my family and I, especially as the online aspect of it has made our many moves and travels possible. My extracurricular activities include reading, writing, listening to music, watching old movies, cooking, and baking. I am sad that my time at Logos has come to an end, but I have been so benefited by my teachers and friendships here and I know that the ways they have impacted me will continue to stay with me even as I continue on into this next era of my life. Ethan Wetmore

Boerne, TX

"Growing up my family was always moving from one place to another. My parents had me in South Carolina where my dad was training in seminary. I was about two years old when my dad graduated and received his first job as a pastor in a small Michigan town. We stayed there for about three years when things were not going so well, and we felt that God was calling us elsewhere. Unfortunately, we did not know where 'elsewhere' was quite yet, but thankfully the wonderful people of Monroe, Louisiana offered my dad an assistant pastor role in their church while we figured out where God was calling us. It wasn't until three years later when the Lord brought us to a church plant that had recently started in the California bay area. It was here where my family finally started to settle down. But it was not until 7 years later that we realized the Lord was not quite done with us. While our church had grown since moving, it was not as much as we had hoped. So when everyone began to mass migrate out of the state in 2021, we knew our church would not survive. After doing some searching, we and five other families moved the church to Boerne, Texas, where we have been happily living and quickly growing over the last three years.

Alongside having moved much, I have also received almost every form of education (except for public school, thank goodness), and I can with confidence say that my years at Logos were the best years of education I have ever received. Up until my enrollment I had always viewed school as being a drag, and found myself struggling throughout the day. But at Logos what I have found is that the classes and teachers are actually engaging, and I found myself not only learning a lot but I was having fun while doing it.

After this summer I plan on joining the Army, where I will become an MP, so that I may one day serve my town, church, and God in local law enforcement."

"My educational journey has been filled with both challenges and growth, shaped by unique experiences and the grace of God. I began high school at The Oaks Tutorial in Fort Worth, Texas for my freshman year, where I was introduced to a more independent style of learning. This was a hard transition because I had previously been homeschooled my whole life. From my sophomore to senior year, I attended Logos Online, which introduced new levels of responsibility and personal discipline. While the transition was not always easy, and at times I felt a rollercoaster of emotions, I made it through. Each year taught me more about perseverance, time management, and trusting God through the highs and lows.

Outside of academics, I have a strong passion for sports and music. I love watching hockey, football, and baseball. Sports have always been something that bring me joy and serve as a way to connect with friends and family. They’ve also taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, leadership, and handling both victory and defeat with character. I also have a deep passion for music, in whatever form it comes in. I have played piano for almost 12 years now, play guitar, and have dabbled into playing bass guitar. I enjoy all of it.

Looking ahead, I have exciting plans for the future. I plan to attend Weatherford College in Texas to pursue a four-year bachelor's degree in Business. I’m passionate about entrepreneurship and real estate, and I believe a business degree and more importantly a bachelors degree will provide me with the foundation I need for a successful career. Alongside my college education, I plan to earn my real estate license in July or August. My goal is to begin working in real estate during college to gain some much needed experience and start making a name for myself early.

Overall, my journey so far has shaped me into a new, determined, and hopeful young man. With God guiding my steps, I look forward to the road ahead and the opportunities that await."

"I was born in Seattle, my family moved to Chicago to plant a church, and ~4 years ago we moved to Moscow. In Chicago, I was public schooled up until 4th grade, and then went on to do a variety of homeschool curriculum/random co-ops. I joined LOS part-time in 8th grade, and full-time through high school. The first year at Logos Online was really eye opening- taking writing and science from a grounded biblical and Christian society was a novel concept for me in the midst of the widespread liberalism of Chicago. Around that time we moved to Moscow, and I stayed in LOS for the first year originally because we weren't sure where we would land. Then my dad offered me an intern position at his job (a company in town called RedBalloon), and I pursued that. In it I made the game Pronoun Landmine (see here: https://pronounlandmine.com/) for a marketing campaign, worked on backend, frontend and devops projects, and grew in my skills as a programmer. In the summer of ‘22, I became part-time owner of my dad’s church website company, Great Commission Design. For 10th grade, my family floated the idea of going to an in-person school, but that would have interfered with my job at Redballoon and my work at GCD. So, we decided to stick with LOS. That year I joined the LOS cross-country team, which though we (particularly I) were not very good- we had a fun time and I really had to push myself to go farther. This year, I’ve had the privilege of attending a class at New Saint Andrew college in addition to my LOS classes. Next year, I’ll be going to New Saint Andrews full-time for my freshman year of college. After that, I plan on sticking to programming and using my classical education to give my work a new perspective. Overall, LOS has been a huge blessing for me as it has helped me pursue opportunities outside of school alongside an education full of classical rigor, and I am very thankful!"
