Class Description: Seventh graders will gain a firm footing in the mechanics of English grammar and usage as well as writing composition. The class will cover parts of speech, parts of a sentence, the basics of sentence diagramming, and phrases and clauses. Students will also learn basic writing structures: the 5-paragraph essay, book report, and more

This is a junior-high course. If taken in high school, this class will count as an elective.

Warriner's English Grammar and Composition, Second Course, ISBN: 9780153119019
- We use the 1977 edition, which is no longer in print. You may buy it USED online (it is very important to search using the ISBN number provided here, as there are many editions). It's often identified as"Grade 8," but we use it for English 7.
- A PDF of the text will be made available by the teacher if needed, but please be advised that printing it will be much more expensive than purchasing a used textbook.
