Write Poetry with Great Poets (elective)

Class Description: In this course, students will learn how to write various poetic forms: sonnet, epic, free verse, and others. Students will learn poetry techniques by reading and discussing various great poets: Homer, Virgil, Dante, Beowulf, Spenser, Shakespeare, Milton, Tennyson, and others. Students will hone their skills with weekly written poetry assignments. They will also complete two larger poetry projects each semester.
Credits: 1 (Elective) Non-honors
Pre-requisites: This course is for high school students only.
Mtg. Days: (TWO days a week, instead of four)
- Tuesdays & Thursdays; 12:00-12:50pm PST
