Class Description:  This class will be beneficial to new LOS students, as well as to any student interested in strategies for learning and studying. If I were to summarize the purpose of the class in one phrase it would be, “How to learn effectively without spending all your time studying.” Topics include but are not limited to: 

  • School principles and classroom protocols

  • Using Class Reach and Zoom effectively

  • Tips for uploading and downloading assignments

  • Organization skills and planning

  • Class Reach messaging

  • Basic neurology, ie, how our brains learn

  • How sleep and nutrition affect learning

  • How to conquer the P-word (Procrastination)

  • How to take notes with a purpose

  • Memorization tips

  • Reading quickly and well, with retention

  • Test preparation and test-taking skills

 

Prerequisite: Must be enrolled in LOS in the upcoming school year
